Orillia is well connected. Located in the economic bread basket of Ontario, Orillia boasts easy access to major markets - by road, air, water, or rail. This enables industries and businesses to receive materials and deliver finished products competitively and in a timely manner. Residents of Orillia can also get to and from Toronto, the United States, and all points in between, without the headaches of living in a major centre.

Orillia is located:

  • Approximately 200 kilometres (140 miles) from the Canada/U.S. border
  • Within 10 hours' drive from major Canadian and U.S. markets along the Great Lakes and into Quebec
  • Just 115 kilometres (72 miles) from Pearson International Airport, Canada's busiest airport
  • 20 minutes from Lake Simcoe Regional Airport

Air

Pearson International Airport, the busiest airport in Canada, is located just 115 kilometres south of Orillia. Pearson offers a complete range of daily domestic and international flights. Limousine and bus service connections are available to Orillia passengers, and car rental agencies provide a one-way drop off service to or from Pearson. Travelling time to the airport is just over one hour.

The Lake Simcoe Regional Airport is conveniently located between Orillia and Barrie in the Township of Oro-Medonte. This airport, located outside Toronto's busy airspace, offers a 5000 ft. paved and lighted runway, Global Positioning System, aviation fuel: 100LL and Jet-A, instrument approach, Canada Customs, passenger and freight charter service and flight training.

The Lake St. John Airport, located on Lake St. John, 16 kilometres east of Orillia, has two runways, the longest being 1,000 metres. It is able to handle Twin Otter, Caribou, Buffalo and most light twin engine aircraft. Maintenance is available, as well as new and used parts.
