Imagine Orillia!

The City of Orillia is currently undertaking a comprehensive review of Orillia's brand identity and developing a wayfinding and signage strategy. These two projects were recommended in the Downtown Tomorrow Plan and have been identified by City Council as priorities.

The project was launched with an educational presentation at the June 23, 2014 Council meeting.  A staff working group worked with consultants over the summer on the collection and review of background information.

Community stakeholders were encouraged to participate in surveys and workshops. The final results will be developed using this information.  Key concepts on branding and signage were shared at an open house in early 2015.

As public consultation is a key element of the plan, we encourage the community to get involved by spreading the word to neighbours, colleagues, friends and family. With community input, we can develop a strong brand identity that is meaningful, unique to Orillia and competitive on a local, regional and global level.

Branding & Wayfinding Workshop Sept 4

In December 2014, the project branding consultants, Argyle Communications, completed the Report of Research and Consultation which outlined key themes identified through both branding specific public consultation, as well as feedback obtained through past reports, strategies, and projects.

A presentation outlining brand framework options was delivered to Council in March 2015.

If you have any questions about the Branding and Wayfinding initiative, please contact Jennifer Ruff, Manager of Communications at 705-325-8929.
