Request for Service Proposals - Inflatable Waterpark at J.B. Tudhope Memorial Park

The City of Orillia is requesting proposals for the supply, installation, and operation of an inflatable waterpark at J.B. Tudhope Memorial Park in Orillia, Ontario to expand upon the current attractions and stimulate tourism within the City.

J. B. Tudhope Memorial Park is the second most visited attraction in the City of Orillia.  Noted for its trails, natural shoreline and community facilities in the form of baseball diamonds, curling arena, restaurant, splash pad and natural beach, the park attracts a wide range of visitors and users including the Mariposa Folk Festival.

Sealed proposals will be received until 1:00 p.m. local time, Friday, February 24, 2017.

City Parkland

The responsibilities of the City Parkland staff with the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department are listed below.

  • Maintain 34 parks
  • Maintain sports fields including ball diamonds, soccer pitches, tennis courts, volleyball courts, and horseshoe pitches
  • Maintain and manage flower planters, municipal flower beds, and hanging baskets in downtown area
  • Maintain turf areas on City properties
  • Plant and maintain trees and shrubs throughout park system
  • Maintain and manage Lightfoot Trail System
  • Maintain boat launches and docks
  • Maintain Port of Orillia breakwall
  • Inspect and maintain Skateboard Park
  • Clean up parks in spring and fall
  • Collect litter
  • Inspect for vandalism
  • Inspect and maintain play apparatus
  • Maintain outdoor rinks
  • Liaise with various special event operators and community organizations
