The City of Orillia is proud to showcase its inventory of 35 public parks. From tranquil waterfront spaces to fun and exciting playgrounds to beautifully manicured lawns as well as outdoor rinks, these public spaces are designed to enhance and complement the natural beauty of our community.

Hillcrest Park - Update

Construction of the new Hillcrest Neighbourhood Park begins April 30, 2015.

Parks, Recreation and Culture's newest park design and development project is Hillcrest Park, which will be built at 255 Matchedash Street North (former Hillcrest Public School Property). The design process has been completed for this neighbourhood park with the final concept approved.

Key elements in the Park include, but are not limited to:

  • Splash Pad
  • Playground
  • Pavilion
  • Landscaped non-programmed green space
  • Park furniture

Project timelines - subject to Council approval and weather conditions:

  • Design and Tender - March 2015 
  • Start of Construction - April 2015
  • Completion of construction - Fall 2015
