Waterlots

The purchase or alteration of waterlots or shore lands in Ontario is regulated by the Ministry of Natural Resources. Documents requiring municipal comment should be provided to the City Clerk for review. There is a $30.00 fee for this service.

For more information or forms, visit the Ministry of Natural Resources website, or call 1-800-667-1940.

Liquor Licensing

Liquor Licensing in Ontario is monitored by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). In order to receive a liquor licence for your establishment, an application package (provided by the AGCO) must be filled out and provided to the City Clerk for review and signature. Inspections are arranged with the local Fire and Building Departments. There is a total fee of $205.00 payable to the City of Orillia for these services. There is also a requirement for an inspection by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, which you must arrange.

For more information or forms, visit the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario website, or call 1-800-522-2876.

Special Occasion Permits

Special Occasion Permits are for the sale and service of alcohol at special occasions such as weddings, charity fundraisers, receptions, etc. Special Occasion Permits are issued through select Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) stores throughout the province. In certain circumstances, the City Clerk and other City agencies must be advised of the application and details of the event. Please review the application requirements carefully by visiting the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario website.
