Seniors are an important link to our past and continue to play an important role in the life of our community. As the city grows and our population ages, the community is responding to the needs of seniors by offering a range of services and activities that are required by this growing segment of our population.

The City of Orillia is home to many retirement communities and has an active seniors club, The Intelligent Elders (TIE) Club. In addition, service clubs such as the Champlain Golden K and others cater to senior members of our community.

Helping Hands is an organization that offers Community Support Services for Seniors residing in the City of Orillia and surrounding townships of Oro-Medonte, Ramara and Severn. Helping Hands is a not-for-profit, charitable organization with a local Board of Directors and has served our community for over 40 years. Employees and volunteers work together supporting our clients ability to live independently and to maintain and enhance their quality of life. Services offered include personal care, homemaking, caregiver relief, assisted living, meals on wheels, transportation, friendly visiting, telephone assurance and social programs.
