Get Up, go out and be WinterActive!

WinterActive is designed to help Orillians improve their health while having fun enjoying the best of Canada's winter. Plan to gather your family members and participate in as many activities as you can in February 2016. All events are free with the exception of Cabin Fever Fridays at the Leacock Cafe.

February 4

Free Drop-In Rock wall, Rotary Place 11:45am-1:15pm

Free Youth Hockey, Brian Orser Arena, 7:40-8:50 pm

February 5

Free Snowshoe Walk @ Grants Wood with Couchiching Conservatory, 10am - 2pm. Bring your own snowshoes.

February 7

Free Pickle ball, Rotary Place 12:00pm-3:00pm

February 11

Orillia Winter Carnival

Free Screening of Ice Age 5; Collision Course @ the Opera House 2:00 p.m.

February 12

Snow Art @ Orillia Museum of Art and History 2-3pm- Participants dress for the weather and use the snow to create sculptures or a flat canvas and then add colour with spray bottles. Free of charge (donations appreciated)

February 13

Athlete of the Year Ceremony @ Council Chambers, City Hall at 7:00 p.m.

February 17

Snowy-Blowy Outdoor Story time with OPL @ Victoria Park 10:30am12:00pm Join the Orillia Public Library for a Snowy-Blowy outdoor story time! We will read stories, sing songs and play in the snow. Wear your snow pants!

SPRING MADE FUN - Spring Registration begins!

February 18

Free Drop-In Skate, sponsored by Orillia Ladies Hockey League @ Brian Orser Arena from 6pm-7:30pm.

February 20

Free Snowshoeing with Kids for Turtles and Bob Bowles at Scout Valley from 10:30am - 12:30pm. They will supply the snow shoes.

February 21

$10 Ski Trail Pass - Hardwood Ski and Bike - Orillia residents can purchase a cross country trail pass and rental for $10 for today only. There will be an intro lesson available at 12pm and 5pm for an additional $5.

February 22

Free Drop in Rock Climbing, Rotary Place  6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

February 23

Free Pickle ball, Rotary Place 12:00pm-3:00p.m.

February 25

Cardboard Toboggan Race Couching Gold Club Hill 10:00am-12:00pm (registration at 9:30am)

EVERY FRIDAY in February

Cabin Fever Fridays @ Leacock 5-10pm- Bring your snowshoes and cross country skis.  Enjoy great food with great friends by a roaring fire while listening to the best of local live music. (Fees associated, visit leacock website for details) 

 


All of these events are free with the exception of Cabin Fever Fridays and the Trail Pass which have some costs associated.
