Orillia's love for culture spans generations. Many community bands, choirs, theatre, and dance troupes have existed for decades.



Cellar Singers

Exceptional choral music for audience members who come from communities throughout the Districts of Simcoe and Muskoka, and environs. Inspired by outstanding artistic leadership, our singers share their passion with enthusiastic patrons and exemplify the tradition and mastery of classical choral music. Chamber Music Orillia

Founded in 2011, CMO couples the excitement of live classical music with the intimacy of a small ensemble or professional musicians. Collaborations with the region's finest musicians and concert series have placed CMO at the centre of high-quality music making in Simcoe County and Central Ontario. The Hawkestone Singers

An adult choir based out of the village of Hawkestone just south of Orillia. Contact: 705-487-0767 if you are a student interested in joining.

Jubilee Chorale

A non-denominational community-based choir that rehearses at St. David's Anglican Church, 133 James St. E. Orillia. Contact: 705-329-4373 for details.

Lake Country Harmony

This is a ladies a cappella chorus singing in the barbershop style. We are 25 ladies hailing from Barrie to Bracebridge, with our rehearsal home at The Christian Reform Church in Orillia. Orillia Silver Band

The Orillia Silver Band is a British-style brass band established in 1949 by the late Harry Peacock.  The 30-member band participates regularly in festivals, parades and concerts in Orillia, elsewhere in Simcoe County, Parry Sound and Muskoka. Contact: Bob Cairns at 705-259-2446.

Orillia Youth Symphony Orchestra

This Orchestra has been around for more than 25 years to give children and teenagers in the area an opportunity to play in an orchestra. The Orchestra hopes to teach its members about orchestral music, teamwork, respect, and taking pride in themselves and their fellow members, as well as the discipline required during performances. Orillia Concert Band

The OCB is  a 45 piece amateur community ‚Äéconcert band led by music director James Hilts.  Rehearsals are Monday evenings from September until June and we perform 3 concerts a year, with 4 additional more informal concerts. Having fun and expressing a genuine love of music is the driving force of the OCB.

Orillia Vocal Ensemble

Mariposa Arts Theatre Foundation

For over 40 years, MATF has presented outstanding theatre productions that have entertained, and have encouraged talent on-stage and behind the scenes. The MATF has its own rehearsal/workshop space at 12 Brammer Drive which can also be used by schools and community productions. MATF also programs an outstanding series of international cinema at the Galaxy Cinema. Mariposa Dance Company

Formerly CMC Dance Works, Mariposa, located at 69 Peter St. S., was voted Orillia's favourite dance school and has 5,000-square-feet of space with two spacious studios and a third practice room for students.

Orillia Dance Academy

This dance studio, located at 9 Ontario St. (Unit 3), offers classes in classical ballet, musical theatre, modern theatre dance, tap, jazz and acro. Simcoe Contemporary Dancers also operates out of this academy.
