Trent-Severn Waterway

Each year, after the spring thaw, the Trent-Severn Waterway's historic locks and canals open, linking a 386-kilometrepassageway so magnificent it has been named "one of the finest interconnected systems of navigation in the world".

Those who visit can't help but remember the impressive locks and lofty legends that make up one of Canada's most spectacular waterways.

Big Chute

One of the most incredible stops on the Trent-Severn Waterway is Lock 44 or, as it is known locally, the Big Chute Marine Railway. It is the only marine railway of its kind in North America and includes ample space for picnicking and boater camping.
