For immediate release (March 30, 2025) – Due to the ongoing state of emergency and the hazardous conditions caused by the severe ice storm, all City of Orillia facilities will be closed to the public on Monday, March 31, 2025.
This includes the Orillia Recreation Centre (except for the designated Relief Centre), Orillia City Centre, Municipal Operations Centre, Waste Diversion Site, Orillia Public Library, Orillia Opera House and more.

For immediate release (March 30, 2025) –The City of Orillia has declared a State of Emergency under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act due to the severe and escalating impacts of the ongoing ice storm affecting the region.

The City of Orillia continues to respond to the impacts of the ice storm. The Orillia Fire Department is currently managing a high volume of calls related to downed trees and power lines across the city.
