Orillia opens cooling centres June 17 due to heat warning

For immediate release (June 17, 2024) – Due to the heat warning in place, the City of Orillia has opened air-conditioned cooling and hydration centres for public use. The City encourages anyone – especially those susceptible to extreme heat – to make use of the centres. The cooling centres will remain open until the heat warning is lifted.

For immediate release (June 14, 2024) – The City of Orillia in partnership with the Orillia Museum of Art & History invites members of the public to a gathering on June 24, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. at the Orillia Recreation Centre (255 West St. S.) for a special reception to celebrate the new Indigenous art exhibit titled “Roots & Resilience: Expressions of Identity and Culture.”
The exhibit showcases six works of art from four Indigenous artists from Orillia and surrounding areas.
