Orillia unveils new bicycle repair stations along the Lightfoot Trail

For immediate release (May 18, 2016) – Got a flat tire while cycling in Orillia? Repair it on the fly with the City of Orillia’s two new bicycle repair stations.
One repair station is located where the Lightfoot Trail meets the Port of Orillia and the second station is located adjacent to the Lightfoot Trail near the entrance of J.B. Tudhope Memorial Park. Mayor Clarke presents grants to four local organizations

For immediate release (May 18, 2016) – Mayor Steve Clarke presented four local organizations with grants today as part of the City’s 2016 grants program.
This was the second installment of the 2016 City of Orillia grants program.
General grant recipients:
- Couchiching Jubilee House: $1,750
- Orillia Youth Symphony Orchestra: $1,000
- Simcoe County Farm Fresh Marketing Association: $1,000
- Simcoe County Elementary Athletic Council: $1,004
The total City of Orillia grants budget for 2016 is $62,000.

Line painting of priority roads in Orillia starts tonight

For immediate release (May 18, 2016) – Line painting of priority roads throughout Orillia will start this evening, Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
The contractor will start on the following priority roads: Coldwater Street, Westmount Drive, Memorial Avenue, and Atherley Road. Spring sand cleanup continues and is expected to be completed the second week of June, at which time line painting throughout the City will resume.
