Former Sundial Inn site to get new life as retirement residence

Members of City Council, staff and project developers were on hand for the official sod turning of a retirement residence development on the site of a former iconic Orillia landmark.
The Sundial Inn property along Highway 11 is being transformed into a four-storey private retirement residence overlooking Lake Couchiching. The retirement residence should be operational by fall of 2016.

Mayor Steve Clarke presented the final installment of the 2015 City of Orillia grants program on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015.
This third round of presentations concludes the 2015 grants program, which had a total budget of $64,500. Clearing the way for construction of new recreation facility

Progress on the Orillia Recreation Facility continues as the City moves forward with site preparation works on 255 West St. S.
The City is proceeding with the installation of a new construction entranceway, erosion and sediment control, and the clearing and grubbing of all plant material, trees, and stumps in the development area of the site, which includes the building location and naturalized area.
