Cyclists and pedestrians looking to cross Highway 11 from Old Barrie Road or Highway 12 can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that a new connecting trail is coming.

City receives $2 million from province for West Orillia roadway improvements

The City’s roadway improvements in West Orillia received a $2-million boost from the Province of Ontario.
The provincial funding from the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF) will help cover the $3,818,455 cost of roadway improvements required by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) to accommodate existing conditions and future growth in the area, such as the Orillia Costco on University Avenue, the City’s Horne Business Park, and ongoing residential development.
