Mayor Steve Clarke presented the final installment of the 2015 City of Orillia grants program on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015.

Clearing the way for construction of new recreation facility

Progress on the Orillia Recreation Facility continues as the City moves forward with site preparation works on 255 West St. S.
The City is proceeding with the installation of a new construction entranceway, erosion and sediment control, and the clearing and grubbing of all plant material, trees, and stumps in the development area of the site, which includes the building location and naturalized area. Council approves 2016 budget with future growth in mind

Orillia Council passed a 2016 budget with an anticipated blended increase of 2.9% that focuses on infrastructure needs throughout the City and planning for future development. This means an increase of approximately $8.18 a month (approximately $98 a year) for residents with an average home assessment value of $250,000.
