Task force examining youth homelessness in Orillia

A citizen task force, created by the Orillia Youth Opportunities Committee (OYOC), is taking a closer look at youth homelessness in the Orillia area in an effort to better understand the issue and help find a solution.
The research and data collected by the task force will form the basis of an OYOC report, to be presented to City Council, which will examine the extent of youth homelessness in our community and the potential need for a youth shelter in Orillia.

Overnight parking restrictions in effect Nov. 15

The City of Orillia reminds residents that parking is prohibited on any municipal street or parking lot between the hours of midnight and 7 a.m. from November 15, 2015 through April 15, 2016.
Illegally parked cars can delay or impair the City’s snow plowing or sanding operations. This prohibition is in effect regardless of weather conditions. All illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed and/or towed.
