City launches improved S.U.N. System for recreation program registration

The City of Orillia Parks, Recreation and Culture Department has launched its upgraded program registration software S.U.N. System. The new system is more user friendly, better organized, and contains new features that make registering online for City of Orillia recreation programs easy.

Buoy lines at Couchiching Beach Park stolen

The water buoys lines at Couchiching Beach Park were severed and stolen overnight on Aug. 4, 2015. The beach is still open with lifeguard supervision.
The City of Orillia Parks, Recreation and Culture Department has replaced the buoy lines with temporary buoys, however the perimeters of the swimming areas are not in the exact formation as beachgoers may be used to. The buoy lines are used to distinguish between shallow and deeper water, and for beach patron safety.

Mayor Steve Clarke and Councillor Cipolla presented the second installment of the City’s 2015 grants program to 10 worthy community organizations at the Orillia City Centre this afternoon.
