Free public skate in Orillia supports RBC Sports Day

The City of Orillia is offering a free public skate in support of RBC Sports Day in Canada on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at Brian Orser Arena from 6 – 7:30 p.m. This event is sponsored by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orillia in partnership with the City’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Department.

Overnight parking restrictions in effect Nov. 15

The City of Orillia reminds residents that parking is prohibited on any municipal street or parking lot between the hours of midnight and 7 a.m. from November 15, 2015 through April 15, 2016.
Illegally parked cars can delay or impair the City’s snow plowing or sanding operations. This prohibition is in effect regardless of weather conditions. All illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed and/or towed.

The momentum from October’s Gordon Lightfoot sculpture unveiling in Orillia continues as a second Timothy Schmalz bronze leaf was revealed at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum in Detroit on Nov. 10, 2015.
The first “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” bronze leaf was installed in J.B.
