Orillia announces Community Torchbearer for Pan Am Games Torch Relay

For immediate release (April 28, 2015) - Orillia is proud to announce Walter Henry as the community torchbearer for the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games Torch Relay, presented by President’s Choice® and OLG.

Coldwater Road Phase 2 construction set to begin

For immediate release (April 22, 2015) – The second phase of construction on Coldwater Road, from 200 meters west of Patrick Street to east of Collegiate Drive, is set to begin Monday, April 27, with project completion scheduled for October 2015.

For immediate release (April 16, 2015) – The City of Orillia is proud to host world renowned author, innovative thinker, and TED Talks speaker, Don Tapscott, at the Orillia Opera House on Tuesday, May 5 for a free community presentation.

For immediate release (April 9, 2015) – Mayor Steve Clarke recently presented a cheque for $15,000 to Dr. Matt Miller, chair of the Orillia Area Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee.
The City contributes funds annually to the OAPRRC, which connects area residents to comprehensive medical care by encouraging family physicians and specialists to establish and maintain their practices in our area.

List of Ticketable Fire Code Offences expanded

For immediate release (April 8, 2015) – The Chief Justice of the Ontario Court of Justice established new set fines for Fire Code violations related to smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, maintenance records, record retention, fire door maintenance and fire extinguishers, many of which came into effect on March 17, 2015.
