Trillium Manor to create innovative new program; City offers congratulations

The City would like to congratulate the County of Simcoe’s Trillium Manor Long Term Care Home for securing government funding that will lead to the creation of a unique new program that will benefit seniors throughout Orillia.
The $25,000 federal grant will allow Trillium Manor to start Good Company, a program that will bring isolated seniors from the community into the home to participate in meaningful social, leisure and educational programs.

The City of Orillia is undergoing a reorganization in order to align resources with key municipal challenges and save $43,000 annually and reduce the tax levy by $143,000 when fully implemented.

Missing-Child Situations at City Beaches Skyrocket, Stay Within Arms' Reach of Children Near Water

For immediate release (July 27, 2012) – It hasn’t been just fun at the City’s beaches this year. Missing-child situations have skyrocketed. So far this summer, Orillia’s lifeguards have responded to more than 30 such cases. At this time last year, there were just eight incidents of missing children.
