For immediate release (July 25, 2013) – The City awarded $10,750 to seven local organizations in the second installment of Orillia’s 2013 grants program on July 25, 2013.
“The City’s grant program is our way of helping local groups who contribute in so many positive ways to the Orillia community,” said Mayor Angelo Orsi. “Today’s recipients expressed how grateful they were for the City’s continued support.”

July 20 - 28, 2013 is National Drowning Prevention Week
National Drowning Prevention Week is an annual, public education and drowning prevention initiative of the Lifesaving Society with the goal of reducing the number of water related fatalities and near drowning incidents through the promotion of key water safety messages.
All this week at both Couchiching Beach Park and Moose Beach, Orillia's Waterfront Lifeguards will be enforcing the following safety lessons.
