Licensing comes into effect in 2024

For immediate release (Sept. 5, 2023) – Due to the heat warning in place, the City of Orillia has opened air-conditioned cooling and hydration centres for public use. The City encourages anyone – especially those susceptible to extreme heat – to make use of the centres. The cooling centres will remain open until the heat warning is lifted.

City of Orillia administrative offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4, 2023 for Labour Day. This includes:
- Orillia City Centre (50 Andrew St. S.)
- Municipal Operations Centre (20 James St. W.)
- Wastewater Treatment Centre (40 Kitchener St.)
- Water Filtration Plant (200 Bay St.)
- Waste Diversion Site (100 Kitchener St.)
Hours of operation for other City facilities/services include:
Orillia Transit/OWLS: No service on Monday, Sept. 4.
