Couchiching Beach swimming advisory lifted July 25

For immediate release (July 25, 2024) – The City of Orillia has received notice from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit that the swimming advisory at Couchiching Beach, located at Couchiching Beach Park, has been lifted.
A swimming advisory was issued by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit on July 23, 2024, due to a higher-than-normal bacteria count.

Centennial Park Boat Launch Parking Lot reopens July 26

For immediate release (July 25, 2024) – Attention boaters and park goers: Just in time for the weekend, the Centennial Park Boat Launch Parking Lot reopens Friday, July 26.
The reconstruction project began in April and included full reconstruction of the parking lot to organize and improve public parking opportunities, enhance the parkland configuration, improve pedestrian safety, and provide additional resting and picnic areas close to the boat launch and waterfront.

For immediate release (July 23, 2024) – It’s ‘snow’ joke. We need your vote! After receiving more than 130 name submissions, the City of Orillia has opened voting to members of the public to pick the name for a very special plow.
