Couchiching Beach swimming advisory lifted July 28

For immediate release (July 28, 2023) – The City of Orillia has received notice from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit that the swimming advisory at Couchiching Beach, located at Couchiching Beach Park, has been lifted.
A swimming advisory was issued by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit on July 25, 2023 for Couchiching Beach due to a higher-than-normal bacteria count.

Orillia opens cooling centres July 26 due to heat warning

For immediate release (July 26, 2023) – Due to the heat warning in place, the City of Orillia is opening air-conditioned cooling and hydration centres for public use. The City encourages anyone – especially those susceptible to extreme heat – to make use of the centres. The cooling centres will remain open until the heat warning is lifted.

For immediate release (July 24, 2023) – The City of Orillia has received notice from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit that the swimming advisory at Couchiching Beach, located at Couchiching Beach Park, has been lifted.
