Annual Garbage Tag Mailout

Please note that the City of Orillia will mail the next set of garbage tags for each household at the beginning of June 2026. These tags are your allotment to cover the period from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
Additional garbage tags can be purchased at the City Centre (50 Andrew St S.), the Waste Diversion Site (100 Kitchener St.), online at OrilliaNow and at the following retail stores:

For Immediate Release – (Feb. 26, 2026) – The Orillia 2026 Ontario Winter Games are back for the second weekend of competition. Week Two kicks off with the Opening Ceremonies at 7 p.m. tonight in Centennial Park, welcoming athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators for the final weekend of this province-wide celebration of sport.

The 1st instalment of the 2026 Interim Tax Bill is due and payable March 15, 2026
Ratepayers are reminded that penalty is added to all past due instalments or part thereof as follows:
1¼% added on the first working day following the due date and
1¼% per month thereafter beginning April 1, 2026.

For Immediate Release (Feb. 19, 2026) - The Orillia 2026 Ontario Winter Games are set to begin as the community gathers for the first of two Opening Ceremonies tonight at 7:00 p.m. in Centennial Park. A second ceremony will be held at the same location on Thursday, February 26 at 7:00 p.m.

Please note that the following streets will be closed on Feb. 19 and 26, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. to accommodate the Orillia 2026 Ontario Winter Games Opening Ceremony:
- Bay Street from Borland Street East to Jarvis Street
- Jarvis Street from Bay Street to Canice Street
- Canice Street from Jarvis Street to the Terry Fox Circle
- Lightfoot Drive from Tecumseth Street to Mississaga St. E.
- Coldwater Street E. from Front Street N. to Lightfoot Drive
