Citywide Exterior LED Light Fixture Replacement Underway

The City of Orillia will begin replacing exterior light fixtures across the city in the coming weeks as part of a citywide LED retrofit project. The project includes upgrades to lighting in parking lots, alleyways, athletic fields, and parks, with completion expected by March 2026.
Residents may notice temporary closures of certain parking areas or sections of athletic fields and parks during the installation period. User groups will be notified directly in advance of any field closures.

Orillia Transit Service Notice
November 10, 2025
Effective immediately, normal operations will resume on the Laclie Route. Due to the current icy road conditions, the transit bus cannot safely navigate the temporary detour route.
As a result, all service will return to the regular route effective now. Temporary stops along Borland Street and Bay Street will no longer be in service.

City of Orillia administrative offices will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, in recognition of Remembrance Day:
- Orillia City Centre (50 Andrew St. S.)
- Municipal Operations Centre (20 James St. W.)
- Waste Diversion Site (100 Kitchener St.)
- Wastewater Treatment Centre (40 Kitchener St.)
- Water Filtration Plant (200 Bay St.)

For immediate release (Nov. 6, 2025) – Orillia has released its first draft of the proposed new Official Plan and is asking residents to provide their feedback on the draft by attending an open house on Dec. 4.
