For immediate release (April 18, 2026) – Localized flooding response operations are continuing in the Cedar Island Road and Davey Drive area.
City crews, volunteers, and agencies remain on site conducting sandbagging, dewatering and installing AquaDam flood barriers to help protect homes and critical infrastructure as lake water levels continue to rise. County of Simcoe and province providing additional support
For immediate release (April 17, 2026) – The City of Orillia has mobilized additional resources to assist with flood mitigation in the Cedar Island Road and Davey Drive area.
As lake waters continue to rise into the weekend, the Province and the County of Simcoe are supporting the City by providing over 50,000 sandbags, a sandbagging machine and additional sand, and flood protection barriers.

Parks Canada advises high lake water levels may continue into the weekend
For immediate release (April 16, 2026) –
The City of Orillia is monitoring weather conditions as rainfall is expected to persist over the coming days. City staff are responding to localized flooding, including pumping water in affected areas, however, saturated ground conditions and elevated lake levels are limiting drainage capacity in some locations.
