For immediate release (September 12, 2025) – The City of Orillia, in partnership with community organizers, has launched two new Calls to Artists for public art displays at the Orillia Recreation Centre (255 West St. S.). Transit Route Modifications on Mississaga St Due to Road Resurfacing
To accommodate the road resurfacing project, the following transit route modification will be in place Sept. 15 with the expected completion date of Sept. 30.
Outbound Georgian and West Ridge via Old Barrie Road routes will detour as depicted on the map. Three transit stops will be out of service, and one temporary transit stop will be in place.

Update: October 15, 2025
Effective October 16, 2025 the Georgian College Route will resume normal operation.
The two transit stops, previously out of service due to the province-wide support staff strike, on the Georgian College campus will be serviced at the beginning of operational hours October 16, 2025.

Crossing Guard update for two school zones

Update September 21, 2025:
Two school zones will be temporarily unstaffed by crossing guards until October 7, 2025:
- Brant Street and Laclie Street intersection
- Forest Avenue South and Highway 12
Signage will be posted at the affected crossings to advise pedestrians that a crossing guard is not on duty.
