Temporary Lane Closure - 119 Westmount Drive South - Aug 15-26, 2022

The road will be closed to through traffic (local traffic only) at 119 Westmount Drive South effective August 15 until August 26, 2022 inclusive to accommodate site servicing: Westmount Drive South between Elmer Avenue and Barrie Road.
Detour Book 7 – Elmer Avenue to Dallas Street to Barrie Road.

Moose Beach swimming advisory lifted Aug. 12

For immediate release (Aug. 12, 2022) – The City of Orillia has received notice from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit that the swimming advisory at Moose Beach, located at J.B. Tudhope Memorial Park, has been lifted.
The swimming advisory was issued by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit on Aug. 10, 2022, due to higher than normal bacteria counts.
All three swimming areas in Orillia are now open for swimming. This includes Couchiching Beach, Moose Beach and Portage Bay.

Council greenlights Centennial Drive Phase 1 contract amendment

Work anticipated to recommence this August
For immediate release (Aug. 12, 2022) – Construction activities related to the Centennial Drive Phase 1 Reconstruction Project are anticipated to recommence this August.

Local groups receive funds through City’s general grants program

For immediate release (Aug. 11, 2022)– Three local organizations received grants as part of the City’s 2022 General Grants Program.
“We are very fortunate to have such great organizations in our city and are pleased to present these grants to help support the important contributions they make within our community,” said Mayor Steve Clarke.
