Calling all Indigenous artists: Applications open for ‘Seven Grandfather Teachings’ art display

For immediate release (Sept. 5, 2024) – The City of Orillia is seeking Indigenous artists to submit artwork for consideration in an upcoming art exhibit at the Orillia Recreation Centre.
The theme for the exhibition is the Seven Grandfather Teachings, which are a set of Anishinaabe guiding principles passed down through generations. Couchiching Beach swimming advisory lifted Aug. 29

For immediate release (Aug. 29, 2024) – The City of Orillia has received notice from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit that the swimming advisory at Couchiching Beach, located at Couchiching Beach Park, has been lifted.
A swimming advisory was issued by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit on Aug. 28, 2024, due to a higher-than-normal bacteria count.

For immediate release (Aug. 28, 2024) - The City of Orillia has received notice from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit that a swimming advisory has been issued for Couchiching Beach, located at Couchiching Beach Park, due to a higher-than-normal bacteria count.
