Can’t wait for Culture Days? Get a sneak peek of the upcoming event with celebrated sculptor Karen Brodie at a preview workshop Saturday Sept. 21, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. in Ramara Township.
Brodie, a second generation sculptor and artist whose work is featured in the National Library of Canada among other places, will host a mini soapstone symposium at her studio as a teaser for the much-anticipated Culture Days weekend Sept. 27-29.

Zellers’ legacy lives on with new local pharmacy

Zellers has been closed for more than a year, but the legacy of the iconic retailer still resonates in Orillia, where the chain had deep roots.
More than a decade ago, Zellers recognized there was a severe shortage of pharmacists in Canada and decided to do something about it. The retailer developed an innovative program to recruit pharmacists working in the Philippines.
