New "A to Z Services" on Website

As a enhanced feature to our users, we have added an "A to Z Services" to our website.
This feature behaves as a glossary and assists users in finding services and information in a variety of terms. As an example, if someone is looking for a dog license, they could click on the "A to Z Services" button (located at the very top of our homepage) and then look under the letters "D" (for Dog licenses) OR the information could also be found under the letter "A" (for Animal Control).

12 New Jobs Created as Strongco Choose Orillia

Orillia is the new home of a branch of Strongco Corporation, one of Canada's largest multi-line mobile equipment dealers.
Site work has already begun on the 1.5-acre parcel of land in Progress Park, where the new 10,500-square-foot building will be constructed.
"We are happy to be in Orillia," said Tom Perks, vice president of corporate development for Strongco. "I have been up there a few times, looking at existing buildings...when this piece of land became available, we jumped at it."

By September, Orillia's TeleTech will have more employees than ever before, says Trevor Forrester, local site director.
In July 2009, the recession forced the call centre to cut 80% of its staff. Of the company's 591 employees, 470 were laid off.
The Hunter Valley Road call-centre has been growing and will hire 100 people by September to bring its workforce to 660.

Steve Van Kessel is proud to call Orillia home. In fact, the second-generation Orillian is so enamoured with his hometown, he penned a song about the Sunshine City.
It was a labour of love that took a little more than 20 years - a process fast-tracked when Van Kessel was inspired to finish the tune after feeling a fresh vibe ripple through town in the wake of November's municipal election.

City Council's Effort to Encourage Industrial Growth is Paying Off

A move by the City of Orillia to encourage growth in the local manufacturing sector is paying off with some early dividends.
CCI Thermal Technologies Inc. announced yesterday its commitment to double the size of its Hunter Valley Road plant. Construction is expected to begin immediately, with completion coming early next year.
The announcement comes on the heels of a move last month by City Council to put a two-year freeze on Industrial Development charges, in an effort to entice existing manufacturers...
