City prepared as winter officially arrives this weekend

For immediate release (December 18, 2014) – As the community prepares to officially welcome winter this weekend, the City of Orillia has several seasonal reminders and tips for residents.

Forest Avenue now open

For immediate release (December 18, 2014) – The City of Orillia has opened a portion of Forest Avenue between Crawford Street and Hilda Street which was closed earlier this morning for the repair of a sanitary sewer break.
The repair was completed sooner than anticipated due to early containment and an established action plan.
Crews will continue to remove impacted soil and replace with clean fill throughout the day.

Portion of Forest Avenue closed for sanitary sewer repair

For immediate release (December 18, 2014) – The City of Orillia has closed a portion of Forest Avenue between Crawford Street and Hilda Street in order to repair a sanitary sewer break.
The break was discovered yesterday afternoon. Crews immediately diverted flow upon discovery and implemented an action plan to contain and repair damage.
Sewer impacted soil will be removed and replaced with clean fill.
