New hospital CEO welcomes change

Pat Campbell, incoming chief executive officer of Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH), says the hospital is getting ready to use electronic health records to create a seamless approach to health care in the hospital and the community.
“Creating a seamless system, so it’s not so challenging for the care providers in the different parts of the system to remain connected and communicate with each other, is an exciting part of our next step here at (OSMH),” she said.

Like the automotive industry it serves, Parry Automotive has deftly adapted to shifting times and changing technology to remain an industry leader 66 years after it opened its doors on Dunedin Street.
John and Edith Parry started Parry Automotive in 1948 and focused on engine rebuilding. It was an era in which engines lasted 50,000 miles; there was lots of work to be had.

Owner charged: failing to provide a smoke alarm

The owner of the property at 24 Free Dr., Orillia, has been charged under the Provincial Offences Act for failing to provide a smoke alarm contravening the Ontario Fire Code. The charge comes as a result of an investigation into a fire by the Orillia Fire Department.
