Docs breathe new life into old building

Two local doctors have invested thousands of dollars to inject new life into a shuttered former convenience store, transforming the long-dormant building into a modern medical office.
“We love the city,” said Dr. Nabil Beshay, who, along with his wife, Dr. Nivine Elgwaidy, decided to purchase the building when the lease on their Memorial Avenue office was nearing expiration. “Orillia is a great size, it’s not far from Toronto, where our sons live … it’s where we want to be.”

New entrepreneurs hailing from Orillia, Oro-Medonte, Severn and Ramara recently launched their businesses during an event at Orillia city hall.
The mini trade show highlighted start-ups supported by the Orillia Self-Employment Assistance Program, offered through the Business Enterprise Resource Network.
