2013 Athlete of the Year to be announced at Council

One of five nominees will be named the City of Orillia’s 2013 Athlete of the Year at the Monday, Feb. 10 meeting of Council at 7 p.m.
The Athlete of the Year trophy is presented annually to a local athlete who best represents individual ability, dedication to training schedule and good sportsmanship. First awarded in 1952, the trophy has since been handed out 53 times to 52 different Orillia athletes.

The City of Orillia would like to remind residents not to let any unidentified person into their home for a water meter reading.
On Jan. 30, 2014, the City received a report of a man asking to gain entry into a Lakeview Avenue home for a water meter reading. Feeling uncomfortable with providing the man entry, the resident denied the man access to their home. This man was not a City of Orillia employee, nor was he contracted by the City.
