Hwy. 12 upgrades studied in Orillia

A 10-kilometre stretch of Highway 12 linking Orillia with its rural neighbors is the focus of a project that aims to improve the busy traffic corridor.
A study underway on behalf of Ontario’s transportation ministry will identify potential safety improvements and needed upgrades along the portion of Highway 12 between Memorial Avenue and Horseshoe Valley Road.

When Norval Orser opened an electric motor rewinding shop in downtown Orillia in 1934, he built a culture of community engagement that’s still ingrained in the company eight decades later.

For immediate release (June 23, 2014) – As per the direction of the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, the posting of Moose Beach, located at J.B. Tudhope Memorial Park, has been lifted.
Moose Beach was posted on June 20, 2014, due to higher than normal bacteria count.
All three swimming areas in Orillia are now open for swimming. This includes Moose Beach and Portage Bay, located at J.B. Tudhope Memorial Park, and Couchiching Beach, located at Couchiching Beach Park.
