Budget Committee - December 10 and 11, 2013

A Meeting of Budget Committee to review and discuss the 2014 Operating and Capital Budgets will be held on Tuesday Dec. 10 and Wednesday Dec. 11, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Orillia City Centre.
A portion of these meetings will be held in Closed Session, and Council may move into Closed Session a number of times throughout the day.

Impressions community exchange a win for downtown Orillia

Downtown Orillia- Residents of Orillia will have a chance to see their community through the eyes of first-time visitors as part of the Government of Ontario’s “First Impressions Community Exchange” this Thursday, December 5th.
In late August a group of community representatives from Owen Sound ON, paid an announced visit to Downtown Orillia to offer an outsider’s perspective on the Sunshine City. Orillia reciprocated by sending a similar delegation to Owen Sound in early October.

Simcoe County ON – Simcoe County Farm Fresh Marketing Association is delighted to announce that its premier annual culinary event, “Savour Simcoe” is the recipient of the Culinary Tourism Award of Excellence, “Ontario Culinary Event of the Year" 2013. Owners step up to demolish abandoned buildings

The City of Orillia’s message regarding abandoned buildings has been heard loud and clear.
Less than two months after the City took down its first abandoned building as part of a proactive campaign to ensure public safety, seven abandoned buildings have been demolished—five of which were initiated by the homeowners.
