Orillia Today -Participants in a unique community program at Lakehead University’s Orillia campus will learn all about the birds and the bees.
Reptiles, plants, rocks and minerals are among the other outdoorsy topics the inaugural class will delve into while participating in the school’s recently launched ‘Ontario Master Naturalist’ program.

Lakehead University Orillia will host its annual March Break Open House next week, opening up the campus to hundreds of prospective students and their families and friends.
The Open House takes place from Tuesday, March 17 to Thursday, March 19 and gives prospective students a chance to be a Lakehead student for the day. They can sit in on classes, meet professors and students, and enjoy guided tours of the campus facilities.

Orillia holds untapped potential as a destination for cyclists and a share of the substantial dollars they bring to communities, council heard this week.
“Orillia has amazing trails,” said Brendan Matheson, of Cycle Simcoe. “They have an amazing network, but they have a great opportunity to develop the tourism aspect, for sure.”
