The Orillia Manufacturers’ Association (OMA) and Orillia District Construction Association (ODCA), in partnership with the City of Orillia’s economic development office and the Township of Oro-Medonte, teamed up to promote local careers in the trades, hosting their first Explore the Trades event May 27 at OD/Park Secondary School.

Line painting set to begin June 22

For immediate release (June 11, 2014) – Line painting on City of Orillia roads will soon be underway with the painting contractor set to begin on June 22.
The line painting, which is typically done in early spring, was delayed slightly due to several factors including a harsher than normal winter, and the loss of a City contractor.
George Bowa, Director of Public Works for the City of Orillia, advises that staff learned the City’s previous line painting contractor went out of business this spring.

Mundell's celebrate 100 years in business

The family-owned business, operating at 79 West St. N. in Orillia, was opened by John Alfred Mundell, John Arthur's grandfather, in 1914.
Mundell Funeral Home staff, dressed in vintage clothing, took attendees on guided tours, which featured antique artifacts from the past 100 years.
