Special Council Meeting

A Special Meeting of Council regarding 174 West St. S. will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in the Tudhope-McIntrye Boardroom of the Orillia City Centre. A portion of this meeting will be held in Closed Session to deal with Legal and Land issues.

The City of Orillia Election Team is hosting a Candidate Information Session on Thursday, May 29 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Orillia City Centre.
The information session is open to all members of the public wanting to learn more about running for City of Orillia Council for the 2014–2018 term, including those who have already filed their nomination papers. Nomination period began on Jan. 2, 2014 and ends on Sept. 12, 2014. The 2014 municipal election is Oct. 27, 2014.

Provide your final input into the City of Orillia’s Parks, Recreation, Culture Master Plan at a public open house Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 4 p.m.
Concepts of the Master Plan and its companion document, the Trails Master Plan, will be presented to members of the public at the open house being held in the Tudhope-McIntyre Boardroom at City Centre. New plaque to commemorate Jake Gaudaur

Join the Gaudaur family, City of Orillia representatives, the Ontario Heritage Trust, and the Orillia Rowing Club in recognition of one of the world’s greatest oarsmen – Jake Gaudaur.
A new plaque commemorating Jacob Gill Gaudaur will be unveiled at the Port of Orillia, Centennial Park, on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at noon.
The plaque, which was originally installed in 1960, is listed on the Ontario Heritage Trust website www.heritagetrust.on.ca as part of their heritage plaque program.

The City of Orillia Commemorative Awards Committee is seeking nominations for the 2014 Order of Orillia. Nominations are due Friday, May 30 at 4 p.m.
The Order of Orillia recognizes individuals and groups who dedicate their time and effort to bettering the community through volunteerism. The award is reserved for residents who have enriched the lives of others through a decade of service to the people of Orillia and who stand as shining examples in the community.
