City opens cooling centres to help residents beat the heat

For immediate release (July 15, 2013) – Due to the extreme temperatures, the City is opening three air-conditioned cooling and hydration centres for public use. The City encourages anyone - especially those susceptible to extreme heat – to make use of the centres, which will be open from now through to and including Friday, July 19, 2013.
The following public places have been identified as cooling and hydration centres:

Doctor Richard Johnston has been awarded the Ontario Regional Achievement Award for his leadership in women’s health.
Doctor Johnston is past chair of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, where he practiced for many years, as well as being a consultant at several regional facilities.
Throughout his career, Doctor Johnston has been heavily involved with the Ontario Medical Association.
