A list of waste reduction professionals will share their expertise at the Zero Waste Conference to be held at Lakehead University, in Orillia, August 10-11.

Orillia residents and visitors are being invited to share their opinions and help shape the City’s future as part of a branding and wayfinding project now under way.
The objectives of the project are to build a new brand, complete with a logo and tagline, and to develop a signage program that will help visitors to Orillia find their way to key points of interest.

For immediate release (July 24, 2014) – As per the direction of the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, the posting of Couchiching Beach, located at Couchiching Beach Park, has been lifted.
Couchiching Beach was posted on July 23, 2014, due to higher than normal bacteria count.
All three swimming areas in Orillia are now open for swimming. This includes Moose Beach and Portage Bay, located at J.B. Tudhope Memorial Park, and Couchiching Beach, located at Couchiching Beach Park.

City pledges $5M for proposed Georgian campus expansion

A $5-million pledge from Orillia council will be used to leverage other funding as Georgian College Orillia embarks on a $10-million campus expansion plan, says Georgian president and CEO MaryLynn West-Moynes.
