Report regarding CAO resignation made public

City of Orillia Council voted in favour of releasing the confidential report discussed at the Feb. 21, 2014, closed session meeting of Council regarding the resignation of CAO Roman Martiuk.
In a report to Council Committee on Monday, Martiuk stated: “Although portions of the report relating to the employment status of the CAO are of a confidential nature, the majority of the report is either already in the public domain or not personnel related.”

Kick your used batteries to the curb Orillia

For one week only, from March 10 to 14, Orillia residents can set out their spent household batteries (AA, AAA, D, button batteries, etc.) in a sealed clear plastic bag, such as a Ziploc bag, and place it on top of their recycling box for paper to be collected on their regular collection day.

OLC forum to help businesses leverage local events

Local businesses looking to benefit from annual festivals and events occurring in and around Orillia are being invited to a roundtable forum set for Thursday, March 27, hosted by Ontario’s Lake Country (OLC).
Local tourism partners, including the City of Orillia, Oro-Medonte Township, Downtown Orillia and several area Chambers of Commerce are working with Ontario’s Lake Country on an events forum, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Best Western Mariposa Inn on Memorial Avenue.
