Job Fair Connects About 1,000 People with Variety Of Local Employers

Today’s ‘Spring into Action’ Job Fair was a resounding success, attracting about 1,000 potential employees who met with and applied for jobs with more than 30 local employers.
Jobseekers said they appreciated having so many companies in one location, making it easier for them to network and hand out resumes. Some left with offers of employment.

Industrial developers doing business in the City of Orillia will continue to get a break.
Orillia City Council has extended a moratorium on Industrial Development Charges until June, 2017, following the success the city has experienced waiving the fees over the past three years.
The collection of development charges is used to cover growth-related costs of municipal infrastructure, which paves the way for future development.

With the Orillia ‘Spring into Action’ Job Fair less than a week away, many local employers are busy preparing for the event, which will take place at the Orillia Square Mall on Tuesday, March 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
