Lakehead growing in new ways

A library of dried plant specimens — which were collected throughout Simcoe County up to 60 years ago — has been relocated to Lakehead University’s Orillia campus.
The herbarium, a collection of dried plants preserved between sheets of white paper, was donated to Lakehead by the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre.

For immediate release (June 30, 2014) – Two men who call Orillia home will be honoured with an induction into the Orillia Hall of Fame at a special ceremony during the meeting of Council on July 24.
After reviewing many worthy applications, the Commemorative Awards Committee has selected the Honorable Douglas Lewis and Bob McDonald to be inducted into the Orillia Hall of Fame next month.
