City’s Official Plan approved by OMB

The Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) recently approved the City of Orillia’s Official Plan.
“The City’s new Official Plan is a forward-looking, progressive policy document that will serve as a blueprint for development in Orillia for years to come,” said Ian Sugden, Director of Development Services for the City of Orillia.

Jobs landed after successful solar project training

More than half of the 35 individuals who attended last week’s free training session at the Orillia City Centre were employed in the solar industry within a few days. Due to this success, a second free training workshop is scheduled for Thursday Sept. 5, 2013, from noon to 2 p.m. in Council Chambers.

Canada invests to help youth in Orillia and area get jobs

The Government of Canada is providing support for youth in Orillia and surrounding areas to help them gain the skills, knowledge and experience they need to enter and succeed in the job market.
