Martiuk resigns effective March 21, 2014

On Friday Feb. 21, 2014 City of Orillia Chief Administrative Officer, Roman Martiuk, tendered his resignation following a closed session meeting of Council and will be retiring effective March 21, 2014.

Public Works dealing with minor localized ponding/flooding

Public Works has been busy dealing with minor localized ponding/flooding in the Orillia area. Public Works crews were out overnight and throughout the day on February 21, 2014, opening drainage paths and clearing catch basins. The City would like to remind residents that drains, swales and storm water inlets should be kept clear in a an effort to protect their homes and properties.

Car made in Orillia area used in new Robocop movie

A unique car, custom-built by hand in Orillia, is featured in the big-budget Hollywood film, Robocop, which hits North American theatres this week.
