Georgian College’s Centre for Applied Research and Innovation is offering a series of information seminars fostering productivity improvement. Come to ‘Increase Business Productivity Information Sessions’ on Monday, December 2nd, at Georgian College’s Barrie Campus. Lakehead receives additional funds from County of Simcoe

Midhurst/November 26, 2013 – Lakehead University Orillia was presented a $1 million cheque by the County of Simcoe during County Council this morning in Midhurst, Ontario. This brings the total amount of contributions to Lakehead by the County of Simcoe to $3.5 million since 2009.

Council identifies Peter St. S. as Arts District

One block of Peter St. S. can now officially be referred to as the City’s Arts District.
Council voted in favour of identifying the one block section of Peter St. S., between Missisaga St. E and Colborne St. E., as the Arts District at its meeting on Nov. 25, 2013.

The City invites residents to provide input on its Scout Valley Forest Management Plan at a Public Information Centre (PIC) being held Nov. 28, 2013.

Crunch time for City of Orillia 2014 Budget

Orillia Council had its first look at the City’s 2014 Budget Wednesday night.
The staff recommended tax increase for 2014 currently sits at 2.8 per cent; a reduction from the July estimate of 4.1 per cent. Aggressive targets met by City departments resulted in the substantial savings.
