Businesses Invited to June 18 Economic Development Symposium

An update on a regional labour study will be presented to local businesses attending the Orillia Economic Development Committee’s (EDC) first annual symposium later this month.
The symposium is set for June 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rotary Place, and is intended to update local business on current EDC initiatives as well as engage business stakeholders in developing upcoming economic development priorities for the City of Orillia.

A unique initiative that matches youth facing employment and social barriers with much-needed educational and practical training left a lasting impression on Orillia recently.
Local youth were chosen for the innovative program – run by St. Lawrence College in Cornwall – by Northern Lights Employment Services and Georgian College’s Centre for Employment and Career Services.
