Scholarships Available for Skilled Trades Students

Local students pursuing an education in skilled trades could receive a financial boost from two local organizations who are offering scholarships this year.
The Orillia Manufacturers’ Association (OMA) and the Orillia District Construction Association (ODCA) are offering two separate scholarships for $1000 each, aimed at promoting career paths in the trades. While similar in scope, the scholarships are geared towards their respective sectors, though there is some overlap in study streams.

The City of Orillia Public Works Department is working around the clock to keep up with the recent heavy snowfall. Efforts to cut back tall snow banks in the City will commence once crews get a break from snow accumulation on roads and sidewalks.

The Orillia Famers’ Market is returning to its roots in the heart of downtown Orillia starting Saturday Jan. 4, 2014.
