Unattended cooking is the leading cause of house fires and injuries in Ontario. The Orillia Fire Department is raising awareness on how to prevent kitchen fires during Fire Prevention Week 2013, which runs from Oct. 6 to 12 in Orillia.

City of Orillia Council Committee and regular Council meetings are now streaming live online.
“With the availability of web streaming, anyone with an internet connection can watch live Council meetings,” said Mayor Angelo Orsi. “Whether residents are at home on the computer or on-the-go with their mobile device, they can stay up to the minute with discussions and decisions of Council.”

Not everyone can afford to have an office in the heart of downtown Orillia. Until now.
Entrepreneurs Mariano Tulipano and Robb MacDonald, who have been friends since 1993, have teamed up to create a unique downtown incubator of sorts.
