Sites and Amenities Shortlisted for Recreation Facility

After extensive debate, the City’s Recreation Facilities Committee (RFC) has taken a major step toward delivering an aquatic centre and double gymnasium for the people of Orillia.
Last night, the Committee shortlisted three potential sites for a new facility. They are:
- David H. Church School, 230 James St. E.
- McKinnell Square Park, 135 Dunedin St.
- A portion of the FLSmidth lands, 174 West St. S.
As a base programme, the new facility will include:

Ward 3 Councillor Michael Fogarty will host an Open House on Friday, Oct. 12 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Tudhope-McIntyre Boardroom, Main Floor of the Orillia City Centre, 50 Andrew St. S.
Although the focus of the Open House is to discuss issues specific to Ward 3, everyone is welcome to attend this informal setting and ask questions about other City issues.

Trillium Manor to create innovative new program; City offers congratulations

The City would like to congratulate the County of Simcoe’s Trillium Manor Long Term Care Home for securing government funding that will lead to the creation of a unique new program that will benefit seniors throughout Orillia.
