Help define Your Orillia at an open house on Oct. 8
Strategic Plan and Core Service and Organizational Review consultation period currently underway
For immediate release (Oct. 2, 2019) – Members of the public are invited to have their say on the future priorities of the City of Orillia at a meeting on Oct. 8 at the Orillia City Centre.
As part of the Strategic Plan and Core Service and Organizational Review project currently underway, the City, along with MNP LLP consultants, is soliciting input from the public to gain an understanding of what matters most to them and what they would like to see as priorities for the City of Orillia today and into the future.
The open house will start at 6 p.m. with an interactive presentation from MNP LLP. The presentation will provide an overview of the project and the opportunity to give feedback on the draft plan, followed by a question and answer period.

“The City of Orillia strategic plan is only as good as the input we receive. We are not simply ticking off boxes – we truly want to hear from you! I encourage you to take this opportunity to have your voice heard,” said Mayor Steve Clarke.
A two-day workshop session was held with Council and the City’s senior management team in August where an initial vision and mission statement, along with strategic themes and goals, were identified. In addition to small focus groups that took place in September, the City is requesting input through the open house, online survey and “Your Orillia” vision boards at the Orillia Public Library and Orillia City Centre.
It is anticipated the final strategic plan will be presented to Orillia Council for approval in December 2019. For more information on this project and a link to the online survey available until Oct. 11, 2019, visit orillia.ca/yourorillia.
